| The oldest map in
"Early Maps of Montague" is a 1715 map of Sunderland, photographed
at the Massachusetts Archives. At that time Sunderland was a much
larger town, and included a lot of land which was to become
Montague 40 years later. This excerpt from that very old map shows
the Sawmill River and Mount Toby (here spelled "Tobe"). |
