Early Maps of  Brattleboro, Vermont
1745-1912
The Wilder Building on the Old Maps
Excerpts from a series of historical maps of Brattleboro, VT

1852
The Wilder building site (it was not built until 1875) is in the center of this 1852 map of Brattleboro.  It is the building labeled "Gates & Co." on the north side of the bridge. North is at the top of this map - Main Street, not labeled, is the north-south swath in the middle of the map.  Bridge Street is the road to the River and Hinsdale, NH.  Mill Street is the small road we now call Arch Street. The Estey Organ factory was on the south side of the brook.
Complete names of the maps are listed here. (see section 7. Downtown)

. Send EMAIL if you have any questions.  Be sure to mention "Wilder Building"
