The Wilder Building on the Old Maps
Excerpts from a
series of historical maps of Brattleboro, VT
1856 Batchelder
View
The 1856 view by John Batchelder provides a
remarkable photograph-like record of early Brattleboro. The Wilder
Building site is the cupola-topped building in the center.
The Estey Organ factory is the split-roofed building on the other
side of the bridge at the left edge of this picture. Main Street
is barely visible extending left to right across the view.
