1790   Detail from the "Whitelaw" manuscript map.  Note the route of "Hazen's Road" and "Hazen's Block House" in the middle of this image.  This is the Bayley-Hazen military road, the first good road in the Northeast Kingdom - completed a few years before this map was drawn.  (Map Courtesy Harvard Map Collection).

1796   Whitelaw.  This is an excerpt from the first official state map, made by James Whitelaw. This map shows every town, many placenames and the major roads. 1821  Whitelaw (Hutchinson).  This 3rd version of the Whitelaw map shows major changes since the 1796 map, including roads, boundary changes, and a "new" town - Morgan.
