Booth at
Vermont History Expo

"Old Maps" had a booth and a small map exhibit at
Vermont History Expo on June 21.

Above: An original 1850s county wall map -
(Orleans, lamoille and Essex County, 1859). |
We had our complete collection of reproductions of old vermont maps for
sale. Most of the products are CDROMs |

In addition to our sale booth, we had an exhibit area where visitors
could see large paper reproductions of over 20 old state maps. |

To make the maps more fun, we added captions to draw attention to
notable features. |

The maps were arranged side-by-side to make it easy for visitors to look
at changes through the years. These people are looking at the 1810
Whitelaw map compared with the 1839 "Burr" post office map.
On the right side of this page is a full-size copy of the remarkable
1860 "Walling" state map. This map shows every house and every road in
Vermont on the eve of the Civil War. |
