The 1895 "Miller" map of Brattleboro shows a huge amount of detail
of what was then a very prosperous small town. The largest
employer by far was the Estey Organ factory which was
appropriately here labelled in bold face type. By this point
more than 250,000 reed organs had been produced by Estey - most
of them in the Birge Street buildings. |
